Do you feel like you see essential oils everywhere? I know that I see them at the grocery stores. I’ve seen them in Bed, Bath and Beyond catalogs, and my friends post about them on Facebook.
I think we’re seeing an increase in essential oil usage for a few reasons. First, people are being more proactive, than reactive, in regards to their health. They want to exercise, eat well and live preventatively so that they don’t get sick. Second, I think more people are learning that the United States does not have very high standards for our beauty, personal care and cleaning products. Did you know that the average person is exposed to 100 toxic chemicals before they even leave the house in the morning? These chemicals are toxic to our nervous system. They disrupt our endocrine system, which is in charge of our hormones, and more. Essential oils can easily be used to make personal care products as well as household cleaners. There are TONS of recipes out there. Lastly, using essential oils in this way can be extremely cost effective. Who likes to save money?
